Starting February 1, 2023, FBA off-peak monthly inventory storage fees (January-September) were increased by $0.04 per cubic foot for standard-size products ($0.87 per cubic foot) and $0.03 per cubic foot for oversize products ($0.53 per cubic foot).
Starting April 1, 2023, Amazon will introduce a storage utilization surcharge for the monthly storage fee. The surcharge will apply to sellers with a storage utilization ratio above 26 weeks. The surcharge (from $0.69 to $0.94 per cubic foot) will be added to your base monthly storage fee, resulting in a higher total monthly storage fee (minimum $1.56 per cubic foot).
Effective April 15, 2023, Amazon will increase the granularity and magnitude for the aged inventory surcharge (previously known as the long-term storage fee) on inventory stored between 271 to 365 days. Additionally, Amazon will introduce new tiers to begin the aged inventory surcharge on inventory aged 181 to 270 days for all products except items listed under clothing, shoes, bags, jewelry, and watches in the US. Amazon will continue to charge an aged inventory surcharge for units that we store for more than 365 days.
- Items aged 181-210 days – $0.50 per cubic foot
- Items aged 211-240 days – $1.00 per cubic foot
- Items aged 241-270 days – $1.50 per cubic foot
- Items aged 271-300 days – $3.80 per cubic foot
- Items aged 301-330 days – $4.00 per cubic foot
- Items aged 331-365 days – $4.20 per cubic foot
- Items aged 365 days or more – $6.90 per cubic foot or $0.15 per unit, whichever is greater
Aged inventory surcharges are assessed using an inventory snapshot on the 15th day of each month and is in addition to the monthly inventory storage fee.
Starting March 1, 2023, Amazon is set a new capacity limit. Amazon Sellers will receive one capacity limit for each storage type per month.
Individual selling accounts have a capacity limit of 15 cubic feet; this limit doesn’t change and is not eligible to be increased.
New professional selling accounts (active in FBA for less than 39 weeks) don’t receive FBA capacity limits.
Professional selling accounts (active in FBA for more than 39 weeks) receive capacity limits based on IPI score and sales performance. Capacity limits are announced monthly.
If you’d like more capacity for products, you can request an increase up to 20% of your initial capacity limit or 2,000 cubic feet, whichever is greater to your capacity limits at a reservation fee that you specify.
If your on-hand inventory in Amazon’s fulfillment centers (not including open shipments) exceeds your capacity limit, you’ll be blocked from creating shipments to Amazon, and you will be charged an inventory storage overage fee in addition to monthly inventory storage fees and, if applicable, an aged inventory surcharge.
The overage fee is based on how many days your capacity limits are exceeded. This charge will occur even if your inventory is subsequently reduced to a level below your capacity limits allocated for that month. It will be charged monthly at $10 per cubic foot based on the daily average volume (measured in cubic feet) for any space your inventory occupies in fulfillment centers beyond your capacity limits.
